Cold Process Soap Making Class

Soapmaking can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be, but getting started doesn't have to be expensive. In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to make cold process soap from scratch using basic equipment and readily available ingredients.

You'll learn how to safely prepare lye solution, measure and combine oils, and bring them together to create soap through the process of saponification. We'll discuss the purpose of the ingredients, basic soap formulation, and safe handling practices so you can understand not only how to make soap, but why the process works.

Cold process soapmaking involves working with caustic ingredients, but you'll work in a safe, supervised environment with guidance throughout the process.  Please read the individual class descriptions for the theme and project featured on each date.

• Fall Cupcakes Class, Friday, September 25, 2026 | 6:00pm –7:30pm

This month's theme is Fall Cupcakes!  Create adorable cupcake-shaped soaps decorated with piped soap frosting and inspired by the colors, scents, and cozy feeling of autumn. Choose your favorite fall fragrance and colors, then decorate your cupcakes with swirls, sprinkles, and other seasonal details.

You'll work with real cold process soap batter and put the techniques you've learned into practice while creating your own festive set of handmade soaps.

• A Very Merry Soapmaking Night, Friday, November 20, 2026 | 6:00pm-7:30pm

This month's theme is Christmas!  

Get into the holiday spirit while creating your own festive batch of cold process soaps. Choose from Christmas-inspired colors and fragrances and experiment with seasonal designs, swirls, layers, and decorative details.  Whether you love classic Christmas colors, cozy holiday scents, or something a little more playful, you'll have plenty of room to make your soaps your own.

You will creaqte two bars of beautiful soaps to use during the holiday season or give as a handmade gift. Your finished soaps will need time to cure before they are ready to use, giving you something handmade to look forward to as the holidays approach.

Class Purchase Terms
Payment is due at the time of booking to hold your spot. Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation. You’re welcome to download your digital ticket as a handy reminder of your class date and time, but don’t worry — it’s not required for entry.

Cancellations and rescheduling are allowed up to 24 hours before the class by calling Sealed by Nature at 814-384-8184. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend, we’re happy to offer store credit for future classes with proper notice.

Sealed by Nature reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule.
